Anyone else had problems with samsung rant?

I bought a samsung rant in oct of last year..i decided it was time for an update from my palm centro. im sorry i did it now, because for the whole year i had my centro i never had any problems from it. Ive now had 4 rants in the past 3 or so months. every time it wants to update the software (and once even without it) it craps out on me. It keeps turning itself off, and when you turn it back on you can tell that the backlight is on, but the screen is black. Has anyone else experienced this problem as well? any luck with trying to get sprint to help you out?
