What should i do with my pet rat?

I have a pet rat named misfit shes the cutes thing in the world. My friend and i went to the pet store and half way back she said "guess what? I bought a rat." and i didnt belive her then she pulled it out of her pocket. Now i have to keep it and she thinks its ugly and doesnt want Him! i have a girl and they have to live togeather. How do i get rid of him? I dont want to kill him or anything...But i cant find anyone who wants it and the petstore she got him from just moved so i cant take it back..HELP
